Themed Sessions and Groups

Support has always been at the foundation of our ethos -to provide tailored specialised advice, signposting and an empathetic, non-judgemental approach to those we provide services to. Our approach, as SENS explains, is about incorporating a range of specialist services, advice and support based on our users needs.

We provide a wide range of specialist groups and regularly run Stay & Play sessions on a Sunday afternoon to provide opportunities for the whole families to meet and access safe therapeutic facilities. At these sessions, up to four families will attend one hour open play sessions in the main lounge and take turns to access the multi-sensory room. Our staff will facilitate sensory room time, be on hand to offer advice/signposting and coordinate our volunteers. Siblings and extended family are welcome at these sessions. Look out for dates and our themed topics here.

Price: £5 per child or £12 maximum for families

SensationALL organise carer groups and pamper sessions. These have included drop-in advice sessionsTea & Tips, where parents, carers and professionals have been able to meet and discuss specific issues with our experienced SensationALL staff (at agreed venues). A regular Tea & Tips day/time is planned, possibly with a virtual aspect (where people can book a time to email, text or phone in with their specific issues).

A re-launch of our Carer Pamper Sessions for some ‘spoiled adult only time’ is also planned. At some point in the future it is also hoped that we will have the space and capacity to run Sibling Specific Support Groups and Post Diagnostic MSN Support Groups. Watch this space!

SensationALL has a small, but developing book and resource library. We can arrange for the lending of specific books and resources to families e.g. weighted blankets, vibration mats, workbooks and DVDs. Please be aware that there is a deposit system in operation for this service.

“Overall the boys benefited but so did I. You are all so welcoming and helpful and I think the service you are making available is fantastic!”
